Stone Soup Update for Sunday 4/1/12.
Last week we studied The Practice of Saying "No": Sabbath.
This week we'll be studying the Practice of Pronouncing Blessings: Benedictions (Ch. 12 Altars in the World). Since Sunday is Palm Sunday, look at Mark 11:1-11 for the blessings pronouced by the crowd: Then those who went ahead and those who followed were shouting, "Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!
Dinner is Meaty Bean Night. Kanda is bringing the main dish, Verlie-potato salad everyone else a vegetable dish, salad or dessert.
The Stone Soup group will serve the community breakfast after the Easter Sunrise Service April 8 7:30 a.m.
We're also working on  the Welcome Table- providing a weekly meal for the community...
See you Sunday at 4, bring a friend (or an enemy).
Peace,
Rob

Getting ready for 3/18 and reviewing 3/11

Instead of sending everyone an email, I decided to do a video blog this week. I just had too much to share for an email. What follows is my video blog message and then below are the links to what I talk about.

These are the links to the videos or webpages I mentioned in the video.
Peace,
Rob

Here's the YouTube clip of Alvin Ailey's "Fix Me Jesus".

And here's the music video that some guy made using the song "Rocky Ground" from Bruce Springsteen's new album "Wrecking Ball".

1 Corinthians 9:19-23

For though I am free with respect to all, I have made myself a slave to all, so that I might win more of them. To the Jews I became as a Jew, in order to win Jews. To those under the law I became as one under the law (though I myself am not under the law) so that I might win those under the law. To those outside the law I became as one outside the law (though I am not free from God’s law but am under Christ’s law) so that I might win those outside the law. To the weak I became weak, so that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that I might by any means save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, so that I may share in its blessings.
